Dr. Callaway received his medical training at Northwestern University, Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and Harvard University. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. A Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, he has held academic appointments at Harvard Medical School, Mayo Medical School, and George Washington University. Currently in private practice in Washington, DC, Dr. Callaway was formerly Director of Nutrition at the Mayo Clinic and has played a prominent role in the fields of human obesity, metabolism and clinical nutrition. For the past two decades, Dr. Callaway has been a widely quoted interpreter of scientific data for the media, the food industry, and the general public. He has done extensive consulting for both government agencies and private sector clients. The author of four books and numerous scientific articles, Dr. Callaway is often quoted in the press and appears frequently on television.
